Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name given to Winona Laura Hoowitz who was who was born within Winona Minnesota. Her parents, Winona Ryder's parents, gave her the name of her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother was both an author as well as editors. Ryder's father is from an ethnically Jewish family. Ryder believes she is Jewish. The actress has also a half-sister named Sunyata Jubal. Ryder's younger brother is Uria. Ryder's parents moved her and their children in Mendocino County California when Ryder was seven years old.
