Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American entrepreneur for over 20 years. She is the owner of control of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently serves as its president. A California native Buss has been raised by an affluent family. Her father Jerry Buss was a real-estate tycoon, who was later the manager of the Lakers and other businesses related to sports. She felt abandoned emotionally after her parents split in the year 1972. When she was 19 she started working for the family's business. She then founded the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. She was the president at the Great Western Forum, before becoming Vice President for the Lakers. Buss her father passed away in 2013, as did the Lakers were passed down by Buss and her five siblings via a trust. Each sibling had the same number of votes.
